This session (a bit shy of 3 hours) is a digital download that can be played over and over again.
The session its-self, including the practical lighting examples, will have been pre recorded and streamed previously as “A New Way Of Lighting – Live”
The session will be predominantly looking at food as an example (with a few portraits thrown in), but the concepts will of course work in all genres of photography where artificial light is required.
This workshop is aimed at both complete beginners to lighting as well as those who have been using flash of a long time, but haven’t yet managed to get their images to the top tier and land those big campaigns for big brands. It is a different way of looking at lighting compared to online workshops I have seen so far, so I will be scrubbing your brains clear of any previous knowledge and then starting back from the beginning. So do not feel intimidated if you currently know nothing, all will make sense soon…
We will cover;
A new way of looking at lighting in photography.
The fundamentals of lighting – inverse square, control of umbra and penumbra, types of lights, types of modifiers
The concept of lighting a scene – looking at the decision making process and how to light your images
How to chose the right light and modifiers for your shot
How to make your images stand out from the competition and not get lost in the sea of work
How professional photographers light scenes and how we make decisions
3 live examples of shooting an image to a brief with detailed explanation of lighting
How to recreate any lighting scenario in any image you have seen
